Tillamook County Conservatives:

The next meeting of the Tillamook County Republican Central Committee will be Thursday, February 2nd at the Tillamook PUD Building Carl Rawe meeting room (just inside the rear door) located at 1115 Pacific Avenue (Hwy 101 North) in Tillamook.  The business meeting will start at 7PM.  Light refreshments will be provided by the Chair.

    As you know, the upcoming Oregon Legislature session starts February 1^st.  The country in general has moved to the red side of the political spectrum.  However,

Oregon has continued to be dominated by the Democrat progressive party.  They continue to have an aggressive tax & spend / big government / anti-firearm agenda.  Our hands will be full to stem their efforts to continue to socialize our government, economy, our schools and centers of higher learning.  The best way to counter those efforts is to educate ourselves in the “political system” and lobby our legislature from the grassroots.  Big money lobbyists will do their best to maintain the status quo for the most part.  However, the Conservative grassroots are getting better & better educated and organized.  With knowledge we can participate in the process & wield our own powerful message of freedom.

     Some in our organization may have been exposed to previous grassroots lobbying efforts but starting at this February meeting I will be presenting several monthly seminars on how the average citizen (& our highly motivated PCPs) can successfully lobby our legislature and present our Conservative perspective as the loyal opposition.

      The first & most important of these monthly seminars is called “Citizen Lobbyist 101”.  This 45 minute Power Point presentation will show you how to find and contact your legislators, how to navigate & research through the www.oregonlegislature.gov website & finally, how to successfully & professionally interact with your legislators via written letter, E-Mail and telephone call.  This training is informational & non-partisan in nature.  After participating in this seminar, if other organizations you may belong to may benefit from this training, I can provide electronic copies for you to present to those organizations.  The obvious benefit is that the more individuals participating in the “political process” the better; keeping our legislator’s feet-to-the-fire.
